US Accreditation

City University of Seattle (CityU) is incorporated in the state of Washington and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities

The Washington State Board of Education has authorized CityU to offer a teacher certification program, as well as counselor and principal certification programs. The University is approved to offer education programs in the state of Hawaii by the Hawaii Department of Education.

In British Columbia the term "university" is used under the written consent of the Minister of Advanced Education effective April 11, 2007; having undergone a quality assessment process and been found to meet the criteria established by the minister. Operations in Alberta are approved by Alberta Learning, the education authority for the province.

Locations in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Romania, Slovakia, China and Mexico have been granted the appropriate governmental authorizations, and are conducted in conformity with the relevant commercial and educational laws.

International

City University of Seattle has received specialized accreditation for its business and business-related programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), Olathe, Kansas. For a list of those programs, please see the list posted on the IACBE web site.

In Bulgaria:


The programs of City University of Seattle in Bulgaria are fully accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Agency ( Национална Агенция за Оценяване и Акредитация) in Bulgaria through its partner International Business School- Botevgrad (Международно Висше Бизнес Училище - Ботевград). According to the Bulgarian Law, a foreign university can be fully accredited if the Foreign University has a partner in Bulgaria. The International Business School fulfills this role for City University of Seattle. When the International Business School - Botevgrad applies for accreditation, City University of Seattle goes through the accreditation process, and thus earns the ACREDDITED STATUS.
